Wisner Road Added to Ohio Crybaby Bridge Project

Well, we’ve officially reached the end of the list of all known alleged Crybaby Bridges in Ohio, at least alphabetically. So it seems only fitting that we end with a bridge that is so ingrained with Ohio folklore and yet has little to no backstory to speak of. Of course, I’m talking about the Crybaby Bridge lurking down at the end of Wisner Road.

I first heard about the Wisner Road bridge shortly after I moved to Ohio back in 1999. I was actually looking into the legend of the Melonheads (another story for another blog post) and had gotten to the point where I was ready to do some, as they say, boots on the ground research, and was looking for the best spot to possibly see a Melonhead in Ohio. The directions I got said to “go down Wisner Road and cross over the Crybaby Bridge.” Wait, what? The rest is strange & spooky history.

Wondering if I found anything? Find out for yourself right here.

As always, if this is the your first visit to a page associated with the Ohio Crybaby Bridge Project, you’ve got a little catching up to do! So you might want to visit the Project’s home page, where there’s a whole slew of Crybaby Bridges waiting to be explored!

Oh, and don’t start thinking that just because we’ve reached the end of the Ohio Crybaby Bridge alphabet, that we’re done. Far from it. There are roughly 30 Personal Experiences related to the existing bridges that I need to add. Then there’s the fact that in my travels, I’ve discovered 8 new bridges that have yet to be officially entered into the database. So much, much more to come!
